100 Layout Challenge #3

I hope you are getting some great layouts done! This is fun! I finally remember why I do this. Not just to finish a project but to remember and create beautiful art using all of my favorite people! This is my daughter's baptism day. She was so excited for me to scrapbook her. This is a Magic layout pattern called Backstage. It was quick and easy and still very beautiful. The paper is from Serendipity. I have been trying to use paper that I have had around for a while. The chocolate scallops is from the Heartfelts. I love using these great felt pieces. I hope you enjoy this little bit of inspiration!

100 Layout Challenge #2

I am well on my way to actually scrapbooking and finishing layouts for my kids, not just projects for others to make. I hope you enjoy layout #2. If you check the lower left corner of the right page you can witness the spot where my youngest decided to use it as a place to " see if my pen worked". AAAHHHH kids, they are so special. Someday no one will color on anything, I decided it was more important to leave it than to fix it. So, oh well and move on.

Most of the time we are saying we need to get "CAUGHT UP", most of us may never do that, we scrapbook because we love it. You are not required to put every single picture on a scrapbook layout. That is not the point. My goal for you is to make your memories beautiful, not to get caught up. It is suggested in the scrapbook world that we start current. This layout is the most current baseball pictures of my son, so start current and see how far you have come. Life is meant to be enjoyed, if we always worry about getting or being "CAUGHT UP" it takes the FUN right out of it. Enjoy these moments while they are happening and on a page.

Happy Scrapping!

Monday, January 10, 2011

Well, I was gone today and when I got home my #2 layout was almost finished. Sitting here all alone on my desk. I decided when I returned to sit down and finish it up. However, to my surprise, there was pen marks on it. Not very big pen marks, but pen marks, none-the-less. So I asked my 5 year old, who is the youngest of my four children, "Did you color on my layout?" She simply replied "I needed to see if my pen worked". (Naughty BABY!)

100 Layout Challenge #1

This is Layout #1, these cute people are my brother and his family when they were young. I love to scrap pictures given to me when I get the newer ones to hang on the wall. This is Reflections 4b and 1j, great strong layout patterns. Reflections is written by Jeanette Lynton founder and CEO of Close To My Heart. This is a great book to add to your collection for great ideas and inspiration! I love it and use it all of the time. The techniques I used were simple, scissor distressing on all of the Cardstock and stickers from My Stickease™ collection. Very fun. I was struggling to get my scrapbooking mojo back after Christmas so this was a great way to get started. Happpy Scrapping

***2011 100 Layout Challenge***

With 2011 my challenge to you is 100 completed 2 page layouts with photos and journaling by December 31, 2011. Come scrap with me and watch as I create and blog about my experience. You have seen the move Julie and Julia when the girl Julie cooks and blogs about it, well, I don't cook and if I do you certainly don't want me telling anyone about it. So I scrapbook and craft. I hope you enjoy your time on my blog and follow along. Get your paper and scissors and join my 100 layout challenge for 2011, think of the possibilities and all that you would get done. Happy Scrapping and Happy New Year!
